Despite being a Calvados Pays D'auge at the base, the AOC has downgraded this extraordinary experimental version to "Eaux De Vie de Cidre" as the barrels used for the finish were originally produced with American oak wood, essence of wood not foreseen in the rules of the Calvados Pays D'auge specification. It is a truly special distillate with the evolutionary notes given by the long 14-year aging combined with the "funky" aromas typical of Hampden Estate rums.
