DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1825 on the eastern bank of the River Lochy, it was acquired in 1989 by the Japanese Nikka which absorbed 85% of the production to make its own blends. The distillery is known for the richness and power of its single malts, the result of the traditional distillation system. Adelphi has chosen a first fill butt ex oloroso sherry matured for 6 years which has produced 588 bottles for the whole world.A “meaty”, umami, not ordinary single malt. Notes of plum jam, hints of leather and citrus. It evolves on the palate in pleasant flavors of wild berries, chocolate, woody spices but also with sulphurous notes and meat broth. Powerful, intense and sweet finish which – despite the alcohol content – can also be appreciated without water thanks to the extraordinary balance.
