DESCRIPTION: The Domaine Guigal is to Ampuis and was established in 1946 by Etienne Guigal, he followed the direction of his son Marcel with his wife Bernadette, now joined by his son Philippe and his wife Eve. Marcel Guigal is a member of the Institut National des Appelations of Origin and was awarded the Legion d'Honneur in 1990 for achievements in the wine world. The headquarters of the cellar is at the Château d'Ampuis - castle of Roman origin rebuilt and lived by nobles and kings of France - acquired by the family in 1995 and saved from the ruins thanks to a meticulous restoration. Always at the Château d'Ampuis cooperage houses the private, allowing Guigal's run through this ancestral craftsmanship and control additional technical quality, curing and roasting of the wood used for aging wines. The production takes place instead in the cellars of the old center of the village of Ampuis, the perfect place for wine-making and refinement thanks to its constant temperature throughout the year. Guigal owns vineyards very prestigious and draws in part to the grape market, thus producing wines belonging both designations northern both southern regions of the Rhone Valley, namely: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Cotes-du-Rhone
