DESCRIPTION:The Tenuta Schweitzer vineyard is located in Tirolo, near Merano, below the Castel Tirolo, at an altitude of approx. 450m. His name, "Tschaupp" (translated from medieval German: "guarda"), describes his privileged position, with a spectacular corner view on three sides of the Burgraviato: to the south on the Val d'Adige, to the south-west on the city of Merano and to the North-West on the Val Venosta. It is precisely these three positions of the vineyard that give it the its particularity. Each orientation is characterized by different solar and thermal exposures. The harvest of the three different zones takes place between the beginning of September and the end of September in different moments, just to emphasize the geographic peculiarity of the vineyard. The winemaker of Tenuta Schweitzer is Martin Aurich (Castel Juval), known and awarded several awards national and international. Vine: 100% Chardonnay. Vinification: the grapes are gently pressed and the must undergo static clarification. subsequently is partly fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 ° C and partly, for about 30%, in barrels of acacia, always favoring a slow and controlled fermentation. Production is around 80 hl / hectare with 5,000 bottles / year on average. Tasting: Chardonnay enchants with its bright yellow color and its delicate and fruity aroma, typical of the vine, with exotic notes of ripe banana and delicate floral aromas. On the palate it gives elegance and an interesting persistence. A perfect accompaniment also to the most tasty foods, such as fish, shellfish and poultry. A good aging will make it possible to appreciate this optimal wine from 3 years upwards.
