DESCRIPTION:Wine made Exacting in purity as befits the largest indigenous grape vintage red wine of Friuli. Variety old ( 1398 ) , almost forgotten for a long time to disappear ; Rediscovered only in recent years we have undertaken with conviction the way of its realization as original and important part of the range wines of the Count d'Attimis - Maniago . From the first fortnight of the month of October, the grapes are harvested by hand in baskets from drying with selection of the best grapes in the field operated by specially educated and skilled workforce . The wine is made after drying the grapes in the loft for 40 days , followed by the red winemaking that with prolonged maceration on the skins at controlled temperature ( 28 ° C) , in order to obtain a structured wine . Following the pressing and the completion of alcoholic fermentation. It is aged in oak casks for 5 liters and smaller French oak barrels (first and second pass ) for at least 24-30 months. The aging continues after bottling , in the sixteenth century underground wine cellar of the estate , not less than twelve months prior to labeling . The color is intense ruby ​​red with violet hues. The bouquet is ample , with hints of ripe red fruit, plum , berries and mulberries , all elegantly enriched with a soft spiciness . The finish is balsamic with hints of eucalyptus and liquorice in evidence. The palate is powerful , extremely enveloping , soft and balanced . Great closure embellished , as is characteristic of the grape, a pleasant freshness and tannins thick , silky bright but to guarantee a remarkable longevity . He reached the peak of the expression of the grape in the first four years and may , in appropriate storage conditions, exceed ten years in the bottle.
