COUNTRY: France - Burgundy
GRAPES: 100% Pinot Noir
DESCRIPTION: François Mikulski is of Polish origin, but born in Dijon. Its history is recent, the winery was in fact founded in 1991, after studying oenology and a long experience of working in California. François Mikulski and his wife Marie-Pierre rent 9 hectares of vineyards in the town of Meursault, partly belonging to an old uncle. Small part of the production is of red wines (Bourgogne Rouge and Volnay Santenots), the rest is white wines and in particular of Meursault (100% Chardonnay). For Mikulski, minerality, purity and elegance characterize the best Meursault. To achieve this goal is given prime importance to the quality of the grapes used and only 15-20% of new wood. The barrel aging takes place for a minimum period of 16 months. These are wines with good aging potential. Pinot Noir from the vineyards Les Lombois and Les Durots
